A transient Lee County man accused of homicide in the murder of Vely Jean-Pierre in Fort Myers on March 16 was added to the Southwest Florida Crime Stoppers' 10 Most Wanted list on Friday.
According to Crime Stoppers, David Thurman was added to the list in connection with what the Fort Myers Police Department is calling a homicide after the murder of Jean-Pierre on Braman Avenue .
The Crime Stoppers posted the information on Facebook .
Thurman has a long criminal history with 24 prior bookings in Lee County, SWFL Crime Stoppers said. He's also been to prison seven times before for various offenses.
According to FMPD, someone went inside the house on Braman Avenue and found blood and a man dead in a bathroom.
However, the report notes that the person who called 911 became uncooperative over the phone and refused to give the dispatcher any ID.
Back in March, police said there was a person of interest. It's unclear whether Thurman is that same person of interest or not.
Detectives with FMPD believe that Thurman is transient and that he knows he's wanted. The United States Marshals Service does as well, according to SWFL Crime Stoppers. Thurman is also accused of actively trying to evade an arrest.
The SWFL Crime Stoppers said that if you have any information of where Thurman is, contact them at 1-800-780-TIPS (8477), www.southwestfloridacrimestoppers.com , or on the P3 Tips app. FMPD also said not to approach Thurman if you see him and call 911. If an anonymous tip leads to Thurman being arrested, the Crime Stoppers say they will pay up to $3,000 as a reward.
