Starting Monday, from noon to 7 p.m., the South Gulf Cove Lock will be opened to help raise the water levels in the canal system.
Officials warn that while the lock is open, there will be strong currents in the system.
The lock will still be open for boat traffic, boaters are warned to use extreme caution in the area.
Officials say they will be reopening the lock from noon to 7 p.m. every day from Monday to Friday.
