A 13-year-old boy drowned while in the water at a Fort Lauderdale beach.
Jerry Hyppolite was at the beach with his basketball team from Lake Worth.
A parent said the boys got caught in rough waters. When the rest of the boys were rescued, they realized Hypolite was not with them.
The boys were reportedly very emotional.
Palm Beach Fire Rescue says the risk of rip currents is very high right now. They say if you are ever caught in one, do not fight the current and swim parallel to the shore until you are free from it.
