Retired Naples Police Officer David Michael Spearman, 58, of Naples, Florida, passed away unexpectedly on May 9, 2025.
Spearman was born on August 13, 1966, in Dearborn, Michigan, David moved to Naples at the age of 2.
According to Naples Police, he graduated from Naples High School in 1984 and began his career with the beach patrol before serving 25 years as a police officer with the City of Naples, dedicating his life to the community he loved.
Spearman was father of two children, Adam and Alissa, and a grandfather to Isabella and Ariana Garcia.
He is survived by his children, grandchildren, brother Donald Spearman, sister Debbie Strickland, aunt Barbara Hardy, niece Emily Strickland, nephew Shaine Strickland, and cousins Christina and Jeff Hardy.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Mickey and Mary Spearman.
A viewing will be held on May 15th from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. at Hodges Funeral Home (525 111th Ave N, Naples, FL 34108). A celebration of life will follow the viewing.
