A man was arrested last week after gunfire struck a home while people were inside early Wednesday in Punta Gorda.

According to the Charlotte County Sheriff's Office, deputies responded around 5 a.m. to reports of gunshots at a residence on Orangeade Drive. No injuries were reported, but investigators found bullet casings in the road.
Detectives later identified Uriah Keyes, 32, as the suspect after receiving a tip from Manatee County deputies.
Keyes, who was recently released from prison in December, was arrested on Thursday in Manatee County on a firearms charge. He remains in jail and faces multiple felony charges in both counties.
Investigators said Keyes had been upset with someone living in the targeted home due to past conflicts.
“Thanks to the collaborative efforts of law enforcement this individual was in handcuffs less than 24 hours after the shooting occurred,” said Charlotte County Sheriff Bill Prummell. “It is truly a miracle no one was hurt by his reckless actions.”
Keyes is currently held in the Manatee County Jail.
