Habitat for Humanity held a dedication ceremony for its first two families in the Carolina Cove neighborhood in Bonita Springs.
The community is part of affordable housing, making homeownership dreams come true.
The new homes will feature three bedrooms, two bathrooms and more than 1,200 square feet in living space.
Habitat for Humanity says the two new homeowners are both single and hardworking residents who have been dealing with the high cost of rent in Lee County.
According to Zillow, the average cost of rent is $2,100.
Lee County Commissioners approved more than $32 million earlier this month to create more affordable housing within the city of Fort Myers.
Carolina Cove is an HOA-managed community that will house a total of 14 families.
