A North Fort Myers man was arrested after his neighbor's cow had to be euthanized after it was shot.
Lee County deputies responded to a ranch on Sharon Drive on Tuesday afternoon. According to the Lee County Sheriff's Office , the owner of the cow said he found his 2-year-old calf on his neighbor's property with five gunshot wounds.
The calf's wounds were to the guts, chest and rear leg. A veterinarian determined the calf needed to be euthanized due to its injuries.
The owner of the cow told deputies that his neighbor, 54-year-old Hung Trinh, was angry in the past about livestock jumping the fence and threatened to shoot the animals.
Detectives were able to author a search warrant and found the .22 caliber gun on Trinh's property in a shed.
Trinh was arrested and is facing charges of animal cruelty and grand theft of a commercial farm animal.
