The Fort Myers Beach Local Planning Agency has approved plans to rebuild The Salty Crab grill and bar, but it's not ready for construction just yet.

The project will now go to the Town Council for public hearings. If the Town Council approves, the restaurant's owner hopes to have it built and open by winter 2026.
The owner hopes to rebuild the Salty Crab with a new ice cream shop.
The original Salty Crab was destroyed during Hurricane Ian in 2022.
