A woman has died after her husband shot her, then turned the gun on himself in March at a Naples Manor home.
The Collier County Sheriff's Office told Gulf Coast News that deputies found out on Monday that the victim had died. CCSO said she was in a hospital, but not in Collier County.
The family confirmed that the victim's name was Abby Padilla.
On March 30, deputies responded to reports of shots fired at a home on the 5000 block of Hardee Street.
CCSO said when deputies arrived, they discovered the couple both with gunshot wounds. Deputies said one of the couple's four children, who was inside the home, called 911.
Padilla was found bleeding on the patio from a gunshot wound to the stomach, and she reportedly told deputies that her husband shot her. She was taken to the hospital in critical condition after the incident.
Her husband, 34-year-old Felix Miranda Gonzalez , was found lying face down near a shed with a gunshot wound to the head and a gun under his body. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
