A Charlotte County fugitive who has been on the run since January is wanted by authorities for felony charges amassed in Sarasota County.
According to Southwest Florida Crime Stoppers, Jacques Gentis, 21, was almost caught at a Charlotte County residence by detectives before he was able to escape. Ever since then, he has been in hiding.
Gentis has pending charges of armed burglary, criminal mischief, grand theft and firing into a building or dwelling. He also has bench warrants for failing to appear in court after an arrest on other felony charges.
Gentis is 5 feet, 11 inches tall, 140 pounds and has ties to Sarasota and Port Charlotte. He may be trying to lay low in some of the less populated areas of Southwest Florida.
Upon his arrest, Gentis will be held without bond.
