A male Painted Bunting is free to fly again after some help from the Clinic for the Rehabilitation of Wildlife, Inc. or C.R.O.W.
The bird stayed with the clinic for five days after a suspected window strike. The clinic said the bird was stunned and could not fly when he was rescued. Fortunately, they found no broken bones or wounds on the animal.
C.R.O.W. recently released the bird back into the wild on Captiva Island. If you find a bird that's flown into a window, the clinic said they "recommend all birds who have flown into a window be taken to a wildlife veterinarian for assessment and treatment."
