A driver was able to make it out of their vehicle after crashing in a retention pond at 14801 South Tamiami Trail in south Fort Myers.
According to the South Trail Fire Protection and Rescue Service District, the vehicle was in the retention pond close to a Walmart on Monday night. Officials said one person was able to get out of the vehicle, and a firefighter entered the water to help them out of the pond.
No injuries were reported in the incident.
A Gulf Coast News crew was there when a tow truck driver had to go into the water to hook a chain to the car.
