A brush fire in Collier County ignited at least 200 acres Thursday afternoon.
According to the Florida Forest Service , the fire near Sabal Palm Road in the Picayune Strand State Forest is 200 acres and 40% contained as of 5:13 p.m.
Officials said eight FFS tractor-plows, two aircraft, and local fire departments are on the scene battling the flames.
The Collier County Sheriff's Office said the fire is threatening a few structures on the eastern end of Sabal Palm Road; however, there are no evacuations at this time. According to CCSO, communities off Collier Boulevard are not threatened at this time.
