The transition to the rainy season is upon us as we track scattered storms through the holiday weekend and into next week.
The Gulf breeze will pop up a few isolated showers near Interstate 75 around lunchtime, which will move inland through the afternoon. Outflow from these storms will push back toward the coastline through dinnertime, giving much of the Gulf Coast some needed rainfall.
Some of these storms have the chance to be on the stronger side with frequent lightning, gusty winds and small hail. Sunday afternoon will feature the same setup with a mostly sunny morning and stormy afternoon.
Be sure to get out to the beach or on the golf course earlier in the day rather than later. If you hear thunder, be sure to seek shelter indoors.
Otherwise, it will be a warm and muggy weekend with temperatures ranging in the low-to-mid 90s. However, it will feel like the triple digits, so be sure to stay hydrated and take breaks in air conditioning.
