Police have confirmed the body of a woman found in Charlotte County on Friday is that of a missing Cape Coral woman.
Cape Coral Police previously announced on Friday, they were actively investigating a missing person case involving Brenda Corbin and working in conjunction with the sheriff's office. She was last seen on May 19 and reported missing on May 20.
The Charlotte County Sheriff's Office also confirmed a body was found along Bermont Road near Chiquita Drive in Charlotte County on the same day, prompting a death investigation.
On Saturday, police confirmed the two cases are connected and Corbins's body was found in Charlotte County.
CCPD said it is working with the Charlotte County Sheriff's Office on this death investigation in conjunction with Corbin's case.
Next of kin has been notified and the investigation is ongoing into the manner of death.
