Florida Highway Patrol troopers are investigating a deadly crash that happened on State Road 739 (Michael G. Rippe Parkway) just north of Alico Road on Thursday afternoon.
According to FHP, a vehicle ran off the roadway of SR-739 and into a ditch after colliding with a chain link fence and several trees.
Troopers said the driver was pronounced dead at an area hospital.
There are no roadblocks in the area of the crash, and the investigation remains ongoing, according to FHP.
Gulf Coast News is working to find out who was killed in the crash and if anyone else was injured.
