It took nearly three years of hard work rebuilding from Hurricane Ian, and South Seas Island Resort has officially reopened on Captiva .
The re-opening also kicked off the Second Annual Charity Tarpon Fishing Tournament benefiting Folds of Honor. That is a nonprofit that provides scholarships to families of fallen heroes. The tournament raised more than $200,000 last year, and they expect to exceed that amount this year.

More than 100 anglers participated, and 49 tarpon were caught off the coast of Captiva.
