A driver was arrested after attempting to flee Florida Highway Patrol troopers and Lee County deputies during a traffic stop on I-75.
Authorities were seen surrounding a silver Mercedes on Thursday that was pulled over on the side of southbound I-75 near the Slater Road overpass bridge in North Fort Myers.
According to FHP, troopers attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a vehicle for an improper lane change. However, the driver ran into a wooded area.
FHP and Lee County Sheriff's Office deputies were able to apprehend the driver shortly after.
The driver was arrested with outstanding warrants from other counties, resisting arrest without violence and driving without a license, FHP said.
