On Saturday, June 7, there will be fun and a run, and it's all for a great cause to support Child Care SWFL. The 5K and Rum Runner event kicks off at La Ola Surfside Restaurant at 7 a.m.
The La Ola's Big Run, presented by Fleet Feet Fort Myers, is back and bigger than ever. In fact, they had to move their event from Lakes Park to Bell Tower to accommodate the number of people who participate in the Big Run.
Jason Drew from "Good Morning Gulf Coast" went running around getting all the details about the run and spoke with Brian Urichko of Fleet Feet, one of the proud sponsors and donation drop-off locations for supplies, and Lateasha Green of Child Care SWFL.
Donations needed include No. 2 pencils, crayons, washable markers, sidewalk chalk, safety scissors, construction paper and more.
