A Cape Coral man was arrested in connection to a scene with a large police presence in Cape Coral on Friday night.
Robert Poit, 58, was arrested by the Cape Coral Police Department. Poit has been charged with battery - touch or strike; aggravated battery with a deadly weapon; crimes against another person; and resisting an officer without violence, according to the Lee County Sheriff's Office.
Numerous police units were seen near a home along SW 20th Avenue and SW 48th Terrace in Cape Coral.
A Gulf Coast News crew at the scene said police have blocked off multiple roads in the area. A Cape Coral police officer told our crew this is a "critical incident".
