The cold front that brought us the line of showers and storms Saturday has stalled out over Southwest Florida, keeping the extra moisture over us Sunday. This means you should have your umbrella handy again!
We will be watching scattered showers and storms moving onshore through the afternoon, eventually pushing inland. Our coastal communities will begin to dry out by mid-to-late afternoon after getting some much-needed rainfall!
Looking ahead to next week, rain chances will remain likely throughout the entire seven-day forecast as tropical moisture will be in place across the state.
Sunday is also the start of the 2025 Atlantic hurricane season, which continues until Nov. 30. Thankfully, no tropical activity is expected within the next seven days.
Use this time, while it is quiet, to restock your emergency kit and make a plan with your family.
