The Charlotte County Sheriff's Office School Resource Officers and School Guardians will be in their annual active assailant training on June 2 and June 3 at Deep Creek Elementary School.
During this simulation, there will be sounds of gunfire and screaming, radio traffic, Dispatch, and the Intel Unit. All of this will simulate a real-life emergency situation happening on a school campus.
CCSO says do not be alarmed — it is only a training scenario.
The facility will be locked down during the exercise, and no one will be allowed on campus.
