A man has been arrested after being accused of stealing AEDs from parks in Collier County and trying to sell them online.
Jace E. Johnson, 20, is charged with taking AEDs from Sugden Regional Park and East Naples Community Park. He listed them on Facebook Marketplace for $300.
Photos of the AEDs posted in the listing showed the same devices missing from locations with the same serial numbers.
A detective contacted Johnson about returning the devices, and Johnson agreed. He took the detective to his girlfriend's house, where the AEDs were kept.
When the detective asked Johnson how he got the devices, Johnson said he didn't want to speak any further.
Johnson was arrested and charged with two counts of grand theft and was taken to Naples Jail Center.
