After enacting a burn ban on Feb. 25, the Charlotte County Commission voted to rescind the burn ban in the county on Tuesday due to the recent rain and improved drought conditions.
Residents in Charlotte County can resume outdoor burning activities as long as they follow county ordinances and state regulations, according to the county.
Charlotte County Fire and EMS Chief Jason Fair recommended the ban be lifted after he reviewed local and regional fire weather data. There is now a reduced wildfire risk in the county.
