A summer of service is underway to help neighbors facing hunger along the Gulf Coast.
Recently, GL Homes participated in a "can-tastic" competition. They built model homes out of canned food. Each home was made up of 500 cans. The purpose of the competition was to raise awareness and support for Harry Chapin Food Bank.
After two hours of building, judges selected a winning home based on architectural appeal, creativity and other factors. The blue team took first place.
Following the "can-struction," a total of 1,000 cans of food were donated to St. Matthew’s House to feed the community. GL Homes also donated $10,000 to the Harry Chapin Food Bank.
