Wednesday is a Gulf Coast Weather Impact Day as we track the potential for widespread rain and storms across Southwest Florida.
A few storms will be strong, with intense frequent lightning, heavy rain, gusty winds, and even small hail.
There's also a slight risk of localized flooding where slower-moving storms could dump 2 to 4" of rain in some Gulf Coast neighborhoods.
The timing of the heaviest rain will be from 2 to 6 p.m.

The boost in rain and storm coverage is thanks to a prevailing southeasterly wind, which will push more storms into Lee, Charlotte and Collier County.
A similar weather setup will be in place Thursday, allowing for another round of widespread rain and storms to move through during the afternoon and early evening.
