Silver Airways, an airline based out of Florida, announced on Wednesday that it will no longer be flying and they are ceasing operations.
The airline, headquartered in Fort Lauderdale, offered flights to and from Tampa, Fort Lauderdale, Key West, Pensacola and Tallahassee in Florida. They also had flights to cities in the Bahamas, Puerto Rico, the United States Virgin Islands and other islands in the Caribbean, according to the airline's website.
"In an attempt to restructure in bankruptcy, Silver entered into a transaction to sell its assets to another airline holding company, who unfortunately has determined to not continue Silver's flight operations in Florida, the Bahamas and the Caribbean," the airline wrote in a statement.
"Please do not go to the airport. All credit card purchases should be refunded through your credit card company or your travel agency," the airline also wrote in the statement.
