The Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office is giving four of its K-9s bullet-and-stab protective vests.
The vests come from a donation from the nonprofit organization Vested Interest in K9s Inc.
The dogs receiving their official police vests are Leroy, Raider, Rico and Toro. Their vests will be embroidered with "In Memory" sentiments for different K-9s and officers.
Delivery of the vests is expected within 10 weeks.
