CAPE CORAL, Fla. —

Cape Coral police arrested a man early Thursday morning after he was accused of stealing alcoholic beverages from a restaurant.

Around 3:32 a.m., officers responded to a reported theft in progress.

Mark Francis Raposa Jr., 37, was located by an officer walking near closed businesses. He was found carrying multiple alcoholic beverages in a black backpack.

The business owner confirmed the items in the backpack had been stolen. The recovered items included: 14 cans of 12 oz. White Claw, 3 bottles of Scandi Brut, 1 bottle of Mezzacorona Cabernet Sauvignon. It all totaled to $150.

Raposa claimed he got the alcohol from a convenience store, but his description was inaccurate of the store’s actual location.

He was arrested and taken to the Lee County Jail on charges of burglary of an occupied structure and petit theft.
