A Fort Myers man was arrested Friday after he was accused of making Molotov cocktails.
Travis Darr, 34, was arrested early Friday morning by the Lee County Sheriff's Office. Darr faces three charges of incendiary device - using (possess manufacture firebomb with explode or damage).
This is the same scene that Lee County deputies were spotted outside a home near Old Olga Road and Bigelow Road Thursday night.
After the sheriff's office had received reports of a man creating homemade explosives, the LCSO bomb squad assisted in locating three Molotov cocktails in a garage at a home on Bigelow Rd, according to LCSO.
Deputies said the cocktails were tested, and all three had gasoline and a cut-up shirt inside the bottles.
Darr was found at a nearby gas station, and he told deputies that he made the devices in question for personal defense only, according to LCSO.
Additionally, the sheriff's office said that they don't believe the explosives were intended to target residents in Lee County.
A LCSO deputy told a Gulf Coast News crew on the scene that this was an active domestic investigation.
Our crew saw several LCSO vehicles, a forensic unit and crime scene tape being put up.
