A man from Fort Myers is wanted by authorities for missing his court date after he was arrested for battering a woman.
A woman accused Justin Gray, 39, of putting her in a headlock and repeatedly hitting her in the face while saying that he was going to kill her. Reportedly, when she tried to call 911 for help, Gray grabbed the phone from her hands, dragged her to the bathroom and held her over the toilet, while throwing water in her face.
She managed to escape and call the police, but when officers questioned Gray about the incident, he said that an unknown male had attacked him in the kitchen. When asked about the injuries to the victim, Gray had no explanation as to how they could have happened.
He was jailed for eight months. Eventually, he was released pending his next court hearing, but he never showed up.
Gray has been jailed 27 times for battery/domestic violence, resisting, trespassing and disorderly intoxication.
