A plane experiencing an engine failure had to make an emergency landing near 6th Avenue Northeast and DeSoto Boulevard North in Golden Gate Estates.
According to the North Collier Fire Rescue District, a pilot and a passenger were the only two people on board, and both are OK.
The Collier County Sheriff's Office said its aviation unit is searching for the plane. The Federal Aviation Administration and National Transportation Safety Board were notified as well.
