One of Southwest Florida’s most successful high school baseball coaches is set to take the reins on the international stage.
Bishop Verot head coach Casey Scott has been named manager of USA Baseball’s 15U National Team for 2025, the organization announced. Scott, who served as pitching coach the past two years, will guide Team USA as it prepares for international competition in August.
Scott helped the U.S. squad dominate Australia in last year’s International Friendship Series, posting a perfect 5-0 record and setting multiple program records. Under his leadership, the pitching staff struck out 61 batters in 34 innings and didn’t allow a single run. Ben Kelley, USA Baseball’s 15U National Team Program Director, said Scott’s leadership and preparation were key to last year’s success.
Scott is coming off a stellar 2025 season at Bishop Verot, where he led the Vikings to a 32-3 record and a trip to the FHSAA Final Four. He’s coached at Ave Maria University, SUNY Cortland, and in the New York Collegiate Baseball League, where he was named Coach of the Year in 2012.
Beyond national team coaching, Scott has worked in several of USA Baseball’s development programs, including four 15U Training Camps and the 14U National Team Development Program.
The full 2025 coaching staff and tournament schedule will be announced at a later date. Team USA most recently won gold at the 2022 U-15 Baseball World Cup and has claimed six gold medals since the program’s launch in 2012.
