A man was arrested in Riverview for shining a laser at a Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office helicopter while it was in the sky.
On June 14, just after midnight, the helicopter was conducting surveillance over the Riverview area when it was hit multiple times by a powerful green laser beam.
The laser temporarily impaired the visibility of those in the helicopter.
Deputies were able to track the laser’s origin to a mobile home. They arrested James Cardamone, 58, and charged him with misuse of a laser lighting device.
They were also able to locate the laser.
