Harley-Davidson is recalling 82,000 of its softail motorcycles due to complications that increase the risk of crashing.

The recall only affects certain 2018 to 2024 softail motorcycles.

According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, there is a concern that part of the rear shock pre-load adjuster could break. This could damage the rear tire and lead to a crash or death.

There have been no reports of injuries due to the issue yet.

Owners will be notified via mail by June 16.

Dealers of the motorcycles will install a new bracket for free.
