Sizzle Dining local restaurant event expanding to 4 weeks this fall

In the middle of a sizzling hot summer leading up to its annual fall event, Sizzle Dining has some expansion news: Local diners will have an extra week this year to enjoy special menus from participating restaurants.  

“We are four weeks long — Sept. 3 through [Sept.] 30. Last year, we had 114 restaurants on board — and that was a lot — so, now you have an extra week to be able to go out and try some places where you’ve never been," said Guy Clarke, who started the local restaurant promotion nine years ago. The Sizzle Dining event in Collier and Lee counties is similar to “restaurant week” promotions held elsewhere.  

"We work with all of the restaurants in Southwest Florida from Cape Coral down to Marco Island," Clarke said. “They put together these amazing two-course lunches and three-course dinners for a set price that’s discounted from their regular menu. Then, we market and advertise all of these restaurants that are part of it. You go out and dine at these restaurants. You don't have to buy anything from us; you just make your reservations directly with the restaurant. You go there and ask for the Sizzle menu, if it’s not already there, and you enjoy.”
