The Weather Authority is expecting more record heat this Monday and some isolated storms.
The Weather Authority's Zach Maloch said, "Mainly dry day. We'll see a few showers try to develop close to the coast by 5 p.m. Most of that rain, however, looks to be inland later on this afternoon and evening."
Monday
Southwest Florida's relentless heat wave continues this Monday as record heat is expected Monday afternoon.
High temperatures climb into the mid to upper 90s. While DeSoto County is under a heat advisory, the rest of Southwest Florida is not as "feels like" temperatures range from 102 to 106°.
Isolated storms will develop for some late in the afternoon and evening.
Tuesday
The Weather Authority is tracking a slight break in the heat as the strong area of high pressure shifts farther west.
Temperatures will still be hot with highs in the lower to mid 90s.
Isolated storms are in the forecast Tuesday afternoon and evening with many areas of Southwest Florida forecast to stay dry.
Wednesday
Mild and dry weather will be with us for your Wednesday morning commute.
Temperatures continue to be the big story with highs above normal and in the lower to mid 90s.
Isolated storms are once again possible Wednesday afternoon and evening.
Tropics Update
The Weather Authority is keeping an eye on a few tropical waves currently moving through the tropical Atlantic and Caribbean.
As of this Monday, minimal development is expected of those waves, and the National Hurricane Center is saying "no development is expected over the next 7 days."
