Barbara Roberts, a resident of Lehigh Acres, celebrated her 100th birthday with a lively party at Fountain Crest Retirement Community. The exclusive event had a tight guest list, and WINK News reporter Bianca Smith was invited to attend.
Balloons, cake, and the classic "Happy Birthday" song marked the occasion for Roberts, who was born before many modern conveniences.
"Let's get this party started. Right? Yeah, let's get it going," said the birthday queen, Barbara Roberts.

Roberts moved from Maryland to Lehigh Acres 70 years ago and has cherished every moment since.
"That was a great joy of my life. When I first came down from being up north where I was born, I just fell in love," said Roberts.
Friends and family gathered to celebrate with Roberts, who is known for her friendly nature and long-standing involvement in her church.
"Barbara is one of the most fantastic people in our church; she has been going there forever. She's just friendly and loves everybody," shared one attendee.
Another friend added, "Mrs. Barbara has always been so detailed. Although she lost her sight, she knows where everything is."
The party featured special guests, including Lehigh Acres firefighters, who delighted attendees with unexpected break dancing.

"It is extraordinary. You don't see that every day, and when you do, you gotta celebrate," said Lehigh Acres Firefighter Christopher Cazanas.
Lynn Hawkins, Roberts' stepdaughter, expressed her joy at the celebration, fulfilling a promise to her father to always take care of Roberts.
"It's so gratifying to see all this. And it means so much to me to see this, and most of the people do know me, I come in and out, but to see that people care and love her, that's all it takes," said Hawkins.
Roberts also shared her advice for a long life.
"I would eat very carefully. Advise you take care of your teeth, eat good food, and eat those green vegetables," said Roberts.
Roberts expressed her gratitude to everyone who contributed to her birthday bash, which she plans to hold again next year.
