Cape Coral Technical College is breaking ground on its newest project, a 30,000-square-foot facility now under construction, marking a significant expansion for the college.

The new building will house programs in construction, welding, HVAC, automotive repair, and marine technology. Leaders say the project will allow high school and adult learners to gain hands-on skills and launch careers in critical, high-demand industries across Lee County.

"These are things that are needed today, and most of our blue-collar workers in this area, as well as nationally, are getting older, and so we need to replenish that workforce," said Ed Mathews, associate superintendent for career adult education.

This expansion isn't just about adding classrooms but building opportunity. District leaders worked with industry partners to design programs that meet local workforce needs. From welding to marine tech, students will train in state-of-the-art facilities, which leaders say often lead directly to employment.
