A Lehigh Acres man is accused of driving under the influence, traveling 73 miles above the speed limit, and eventually crashing into an Immokalee building.
According to the Collier County Sheriff's Office, 31-year-old Richard Fewell drove intoxicated at 108 mph down S. 1st St., a 35 mph zone, in Immokalee on Sunday night.
The car, which went airborne at some points, collided with an electric pole, causing a large electrical explosion and damage of around $50,000.
It eventually crashed into a building, which, according to the sheriff’s office, made it structurally unsound.
Deputies said Fewell fled because he was involved in a disturbance at the casino.
He was charged with fleeing and eluding police at high speed, DUI, damage to property, and operating a vehicle going over 100 mph.
He bonded out of jail on Monday.
