Dust off your boots: The rodeo rides into Arcadia this weekend

ARCADIA, Fla. - Get those cowboy boots and put on your cowgirl hat because this weekend the rodeo is in town and you won’t want to miss it.

Tex Brothers Ranch is rolling into the Mosaic Arena in Arcadia with a weekend packed full of high-flying, heart-pounding rodeo action that’s perfect for friends, families and anyone who loves a good time.

This isn’t just your backyard barn dance. There will be professional bull riders bucking with all they’ve got, professional team ropers showing off jaw-dropping precision, barrel racing that’ll take your breath away, and more. Rodeo organizer Renato Teixeira said he created this space for everyone.

“It’s entertainment for friends and family but also we’re bringing in that high level of professionals.”

There are competitions lined up, and each competitor has the chance to walk away with $10,000. Teixeira was a professional bull rider for many years before moving from Brazil to Southwest Florida, and now he’s sharing his love of the sport with the community.

“I think there’s more of a need for events like this. It’s great for parents too because it gives them a chance to bring their kids and bond over animals and being outside,” Teixeira said.

The apple doesn’t fall too far from the tree, either. Both of his children, Daniel and Gabriel Teixeira, are following closely in his footsteps and they’re already making waves.The young boys tear it up as a team roping duo and are actually the best in all of Florida.

“Having our dad and mom’s support means the world to us,” said the pair of brothers.

This rodeo hits the Mosaic Arena, a local go-to for rodeo fans with a long history of top riders and crowd-pleasing events, Saturday, the 20th.

General admission tickets are $30 and VIP is $100. Gates open at 3 p.m. and the fun starts at 5 p.m.
