Collier County woman arrested for 2012 murder in Key Royal Villas

The Collier County Sheriff's Office has announced a significant development in a case that has haunted a community for over a decade. Julie Krinsky, 53, was arrested Thursday morning in Beverly Hills, Florida, on a charge of second-degree murder with a weapon.

"Justice may take time, but it doesn't expire," said Collier County Sheriff Kevin Rambosk.

Krinsky is accused of stabbing Joseph Godcharles to death in his Key Royal Villas apartment in 2012. Neighbors have lived with the memory of that tragic day for years.

"Everybody was very upset about it," said Maria Falivene, a neighbor of Godcharles.

Investigators revealed that Krinsky and Godcharles had been in a romantic relationship. After 13 years without closure, Falivene expressed relief that an arrest had been made.

"Too bad it wasn't sooner. But, I mean, it's great, you know that they can identify the killer after so many years," said Falivene.

Falivene also expressed sympathy for Godcharles' family, particularly his son.

"I feel really sorry for the son. You know, I don't know other family members, but you can't help feel sorry for kids," she said.

Sheriff Rambosk emphasized their commitment to pursuing justice for victims and holding perpetrators accountable.

"The arrest sent a clear message to victims' families: we will never stop fighting for you," said Rambosk. "And to those who commit violent crimes in Collier County, we will never stop looking for you."
