Memorial Day closures across Southwest Florida

As communities across Southwest Florida prepare to observe Memorial Day on Monday, local governments and agencies have announced a series of closures that will affect public services and facilities.

Some businesses will be open, but they may be operating on a modified schedule.

What’s closed:

Government Offices

• All administrative offices, including city halls and county offices, will be closed.

Public Services

• Libraries

Transportation

• LeeTran – Bus, trolley, and paratransit services will be suspended for the day. Services will resume on Tuesday, May 27.

• Collier Area Transit (CAT) – No bus service will be provided on Memorial Day.

Post Offices

• U.S. Postal Service – All post offices will be closed, and there will be no mail delivery. Services resume Tuesday, May 27.

Banks & Financial Institutions

• Major Banks

• Credit Unions

  • Online and ATM services will remain available.

Retail Stores

• Costco

• Smaller Local Stores

Public & State Offices

• Florida Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) – All DMV offices will be closed for the day.

• Collier County Clerk of Court 

Waste Management & Recycling

• Lee County Solid Waste – Garbage, recycling, and yard waste collection will be delayed by one day

Attractions & Parks

• Beaches

• Nature Preserves & Parks, including the Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary and Ding Darling National Wildlife Refuge.

• The Naples Pier

• Edison & Ford Winter Estates

Restaurants & Dining

• Chain Restaurants, including Applebee’s, Olive Garden and The Cheesecake Factory.

• Local Favorites like The Doghouse, Ford's Garage and The Veranda

Retail Stores

• Walmart

• Target

• Home Improvement Stores – Most Lowe’s, Home Depot and Ace Hardware locations will remain open.

• Larger chains like Publix, Aldi and Winn-Dixie are open, though they may operate on shorter hours.

• Shopping Malls – Large shopping malls, such as Coconut Point and Miromar Outlets.
