Naples Pier breaks ground in the New Year

Naples, FL – The City of Naples will host a groundbreaking ceremony for the Naples Pier Rebuild Project on January 5, 2026, at 10 a.m.

The ceremony will take place on the beach at the Naples Pier, accessible from the 12th Avenue South beach access.

Mayor Teresa Heitmann, City Manager Gary Young, and other dignitaries are expected to speak at the event. The ceremony will honor the efforts of project partners, stakeholders, and the community who have supported the rebuild of this historic landmark.

To accommodate the event, the Naples Pier parking lot, located at 12th Avenue South and Gulf Shore Boulevard South, will be closed from 7:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

The Naples Pier has long been a gathering place, offering access to the Gulf and supporting recreation and tourism. The rebuild project aims to restore this iconic structure while improving its resilience and longevity for future generations.

The project reflects years of planning and coordination among local, state, and federal partners. Once completed, the pier will continue to be a centerpiece of Naples’ shoreline and a symbol of the community's connection to its coastal environment.
