Death investigation underway after dead body found in water north of Midpoint Bridge

LEE COUNTY, Fla. —

A death investigation is underway after a dead body was found in the water north of the Midpoint Bridge Sunday afternoon in Lee County.

According to the Lee County Sheriff's Office, a boater found the deceased person and deputies responded around 1:15 p.m.

The sheriff's office said the investigation is non-suspicious and that there are no signs of foul play. The medical examiners office and detectives will work to determine the cause of death.
