2 arrested after stolen ATV chase in DeSoto County

DESOTO COUNTY, Fla. —

Two people were arrested in DeSoto County over the weekend after being accused of stealing an all-terrain vehicle from a local business.

According to the DeSoto County Sheriff's Office, Michaela Mullin and Caleb Rachel stole the ATV from a local DeSoto County business and were later located by officers with the Arcadia Police Department.

APD officers alerted DCSO deputies to the ATV's location and the direction it was headed.

Deputies assisted officers with the pursuit of the ATV. During the pursuit, the ATV crashed into a ditch, throwing both Mullin and Rachel off, DCSO said.

Mullin and Rachel began to run from the scene, but were quickly caught and arrested by deputies.

The pair faces multiple charges from the Arcadia Police Department, and face an additional charge from DCSO of grand theft auto.
