The Weather Authority is tracking a cold New Year's Eve with sunny skies.

The Weather Authority's Zach Maloch said, "Be prepared. This evening will be the coldest New Year's Eve we've seen in 25 years."

Wednesday

A Cold Weather Advisory is in effect until 9 a.m. this Wednesday morning, as temperatures start in the 30s and 40s across Southwest Florida.

Temperatures will be slow to warm, with highs in the 60s throughout the afternoon.

Plan for the 40s if you are going to be outdoors to ring in the New Year.

Thursday

Cold temperatures stick around for the first morning of 2026.

Temperatures will be in the 30s to lower 40s Thursday morning, with patchy frost possible for some of our inland communities.

We'll see plenty of sunshine with highs climbing into the upper 60s to lower 70s on Thursday afternoon.

Another cold morning with temperatures in the 40s to the lower 50s.

We'll see a lot of sunshine on Friday, with a few clouds popping up throughout the afternoon.

Highs will be warmer and in the mid to upper 70s.
