Cape Coral hosts festive New Year's Eve celebration

CAPE CORAL, Fla. —

Cape Coral is hosting its third annual New Year's Eve celebration with a light-up ball drop at both 8 p.m. and midnight, offering a festive atmosphere for young families, local residents, and visitors from around the world.

The event promises a lively night with games for kids, food vendors, shopping, and live performances from artists like LFO, Chris Kirkpatrick from NSYNC, and O-Town's Ryan Cabrera.

Cape Coral resident Debra Jones shared her plans for the evening, saying, "We're probably going to go to the 8 p.m. ball drop because it's a little earlier, and we don't, we go to bed earlier, but we're looking forward to it. And then maybe listening to Deb and the dynamics. Yeah. One of our favorite local bands."

A family from Germany, experiencing their first New Year's Eve celebration in America, is among the attendees.

Carsten Froehlich, a German visitor, expressed his excitement, saying, "So we arrived in America on Thursday and will stay here for a few more days. And we are just enjoying the sun here because the weather is much better than Germany."

Seasonal snowbirds from Canada are also eager to enjoy the live '90s pop music and the New Year's festivities.

Steve White, a Canadian visitor, confirmed his enthusiasm for the event, stating, "Well, of course we wouldn't be here if we weren't."

The celebration will continue until midnight, offering plenty of entertainment and fun along Southeast 47th Terrace for those seeking last-minute plans. Happy New Year to all!
