Bomb threat made to Temple Shalom in Port Charlotte deemed unfounded by deputies

PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla. —

An investigation is underway into a bomb threat made to Temple Shalom, located along Utica Avenue in Port Charlotte.

The Charlotte County Sheriff's Office said that after evacuating the area and conducting sweeps both outside and inside the buildings, no device was found.

Charlotte County Fire & EMS crews were also called to the scene out of an abundance of caution, according to CCSO.

The sheriff's office said the scene has since cleared.
