Threatening email provokes deputy response at Temple Shalom in Port Charlotte

Charlotte County Sheriff’s deputies and Charlotte County Fire & EMS responded to Temple Shalom on Utica Avenue in Port Charlotte after a threatening email was reported.

A sheriff’s office spokesperson tells WINK News after evacuating the area and conducting sweeps both outside and inside the buildings, no device was located.

Temple Shalom representatives say the email, discovered today, claimed a bomb had been placed at the location with a threat to kill many people. The scene has since cleared.
